BC Public Library Directors’ Award for Innovation & Impact

The ABCPLD Award for Innovation and Impact is an annual celebration of innovative projects that exemplify proactive leadership and the profound impact public libraries have on their communities.

Criteria and Decision Process

This award honours Library Directors who have created and implemented initiatives that are inspiring others and increasing the impact their library has on their community.  

These initiatives exemplify innovation and leadership in the library to the benefit of their community.

Current members of the ABCPLD executive are exempt from receiving the award. 

Nominations will be called for annually. The selection committee will consist of the Chair and Vice Chair of ABCPLD, as well as the Chair of the Nominations Committee.

In its inaugural year, one award will be presented. Thereafter, the Selection Committee will determine the number of awards to be presented each year based on the strength of the applications.  

The award consists of a plaque for the library director. The recipient will be honoured at the ABCPLD AGM.

ABCPLD will also work with the recipient’s library to issue a press release to their local media.
